    • Includes a dense lava fragment with widely spaced air bubbles and a highly vesicular form packed full of tightly spaced gas bubbles.

    • A neat collection of material mounted in 7 microsample slides. 
    • Collected after the March 1944 eruption (when World War II was still raging). 
    • Includes medium and fine grained ash, black and red lava and pumice, sulphur and olivine.

    • These beautiful samples are from the fossil beds of Florissant, Colorado and show the exceptional stratigraphy of the site. 
    • Each slice shows a thick, yellow volcanic ash bed sitting above the lake sediments. 
    • One of the most distinct examples of bedded stratigraphy that we have and a frm favourite.
